Good morning fellow social media members. It has been a long time since I put pen to paper to write an episode and for that my apologies. I have had a few health issues and quite frankly, the games the con artists and scammers plays have changed very little with a few exceptions. I hope everyone has enjoyed the historic and general knowledge articles from my friend Ron linam. I have enlightened some of you about the events in history he addresses. Ron and I have been friends for many many years and both of us were in the real estate business and we did many deals together but his true love in research and history. Let us know if you have enjoyed the articles.
There are a few issues which are related to scams on the internet, besides fake profiles on social media are frantically attempting to separate us from our wealth. Basically, I have experienced an increase in emails from scammers conducting computer-technical support scams. This is where the con artist pose as service representatives of a company’s technical or computer repair service, what they do is to contact you (me) via e or g mail about high prices, soon to be renewed or expired subscriptions that we may or may not have associated with the security systems we utilize on our devices. I realized that some of the names involved in my case have been related to Antivirus software companies such as AVG, Mcafee, Malware stating that the subscription could not be renewed and they request that you provide credit card info so the subscription can be renewed. The first time this happened was approximately one month after I had renewed my subscriptions for a year, and I knew that this was a phishing expedition. All I can say is be sure and check the e mail address that send the message…This will confirm if email is from company, it must show the company name you signed up for, if not the email was was generated by an individual. Just be careful and check, see if the contact is real or just a scam.
A good source of information is the public service announcements made by the FBI which are available to the public on tr’s s website…Lots is in there to help you attain online safety and know what is going on. In 2024 the estimated losses to cybercrime was estimated to be in the 16 billion range. Targeted victims generally fall with the elderly population. Being 80 years old….Guess I’m in that group. Yes, I have been scammed and that is the reason for this sensitization blog and other websites such as scamcatcherapp. Be safe out there, be careful and keep you hand on your funds.
Ok enough of scams and con artist. Let go to the real game .Meeting someone on social media who you want to get to know? All advice I can give you is to remember rule number one…….No live video chat/facetime, no engagement/acquittance with the person you just met. I finally had to enforce that rule on myself…..Enough was enough.
It is no secret that I follow both Sommer Ray and Angie Varona and those two are my Achilles heel. In fact, as of today am dealing with three fake Sommers and at least five Angie’s……..Yes I know there can one be one original of each……Kinda funny, one refuses to do a live video chat because of events that happened in the past. Yes some agree to doing so but for some reason the calls never connect, even when you change communication sites….Seems there is always a problem, whether it is my phone or one of two pc’s or my laptop or with hers. Like I say, keep you wallet in your pocket till you are sure of who you are dealing with….Yesi do break my rule from time to time…..Just glad I can charge it off as research for my websites. Till date have been in depositions, court hearings and business meetings with no problems, but no success in LVC with either of the above named. Obviously, they are fakes. FYI, I am chatting with both influencers as I write this episode. For LVC. I have had a few fakes made attempts using AI but just not the real thing. You can tell. Just use common sense. Sometimes, I ask myself why would a young beautiful woman want to hook up with an old man like me. Remind me of a situation one of my old dear departed partner was in, h met and fell in love with a beautiful woman about 40 years younger than himself. He and I were to meet to go look at some land deals and she came with him. She was damn beautiful. I talking a beauty like one on the cover of playboy magazine. I asked him where and how. His response was, “I open up my wallet and there she was” long story short, they married, divorced some years later and then stayed together for at least 30 years. She and I are still friends. Don’t know if you guy remember the TV show “Dallas”. Well the show was based on four brothers in the oil business in Dallas, Texas and he was one of the brothers. It was fun dealing with the tv producers on site selection, etc……Yes, I was there and the names were changed to protect the guilty.
As I write, l was just asked for a $1k by someone claiming to be Sommer, my response was that I needed a LVC before she comes to visit at the end of this month……Odds are that will never happen. Enough of that we can go to the other influencer, Angie Varona….So far since my last episode I have blocked and reported at least fifteen fakes and the story is always similiar, they always need help with bills, gifts for her son Ricky, help in creating a new store for her new line of clothing. I won’t go into all the many details of individual chats but needless to say, at the end there is always a request for $$$. There is one thing I will share. She has said she wants me to be a father to a brother or sister for little Ricky. Even though the chats vary, in the end it is all about sending dollars for a kiss and a promise..Just beware
There are other fakes I chat with. Got lots of friend request and follow request or following on Instagram and Threads and Tiktok…..Including the above named and many others. Following these request and checking profiles on threads, most lead to sites which ask you if you are eighteen years of age. That I stop loading page because those sites are not what I want to
visit…..Hell, lots of free porn on internet but most contain malware or virus that will infect your device unless you have the right security. Once again the most expensive you will have is cloked in the though that it is free. With the number of fake models I have on my PC it seems like it is going to be crowded at my home at the end of the month, if I send airfare. hahahhaha…..What is a man to do……Nothing is my advice.
